Foam Backed Multifoam Seat Padding is a thin firm foam pad. The fabric lining enables this foam padding to be sewn, stapled, and pinned in all your upholstery and sewing projects, and protects the foam from ripping/separating.

This material is frequently used as the outermost foam layer on replacement seats, just underneath the outer fabric to ensure evenness and smoothness in the foam and padding across the entire seat.
